چکیده
Abstract Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are prevalent environmental pollutants produced by incomplete combustion of biomass including fossil fuels, wood, and coal. The majority PAHs in the environment emits from anthropogenic activities, while some released naturally occurring phenomena, such as volcanic activities. Consequently, concentration is significantly higher industrialized urban areas than rural areas. Human exposure to results many health problems, depending on PAH type, time method exposure, individual status. readily transport between soil, water, atmosphere. Four main processes involved transportation volatilization, absorption, leaching, erosion. However, factors affect PAHs‘ transportation, molecular weight, vapor pressure, soil matrix, climate condition, topography. Various remediation techniques have experimented order remove natural environment. Bioremediation, particular, an optimistic way that can be done bacteria, fungi, alga.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon selected galaxies
Context. This is the fourth in a series of papers based on the ISOCAM Parallel Survey at 6.7 μm. While the first three papers have been devoted to active galactic nuclei (AGN), here we report on emission-line galaxies without AGN signatures in their optical spectra. Aims. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emission has been found in both starbursts and modestly starforming galaxies, but the ...
متن کاملBiological effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon derivatives.
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are included in various environmental pollutants such as airborne particles and have been reported to induce a variety of toxic effects. On the other hand, PAH derivatives are generated from PAHs both through chemical reaction in the atmosphere and metabolism in the body.PAH derivatives have become known for their specific toxicities such as estrogenic/an...
متن کاملPolycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon Far-infrared Spectroscopy
The far-IR characteristics of astrophysically relevant polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) averaging in size around 100 carbon atoms have been studied using the theoretical spectra in the NASA Ames PAH IR Spectroscopic Database. These spectra were calculated using density functional theory. Selections of PAH species are made, grouped together by common characteristics or trends, such as siz...
متن کاملClosed-shell polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon cations: a new category of interstellar polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
Density functional theory has been employed to calculate the harmonic frequencies and intensities of a range of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) cations that explore both size and electronic structure effects on the infrared spectroscopic properties of these species. The sample extends the size range of PAH species considered to more than 50 carbon atoms and includes several representative...
متن کاملInterrelationship of Pyrogenic Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) Contamination in Different Environmental Media
Interrelationships between pyrogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were assessed in air, soil, water, sediment, and tree leaves by using multi-media monitoring data. Concurrent concentration measurements were taken bimonthly for a year for the multi-media at urban and suburban sites. PAH level correlations between air and other media were observed at the urban site but were less clear...
